‘Debut Freestyle release of a deeply funky soul album from the Grammy Nominated ‘Down to The Bone’, previously signed to Blue Note & Verve Records, featuring contributions from Roy Ayres and Hil St Soul’ Stuart Wades’ Down To The Bone first took shape in 1995 and quickly established an enviable reputation in the US, receiving a Grammy nomination , securing a NO 2 slot on the Billboard chart, heavy radio play as well as recording for legendary jazz labels Blue Note and Verve Records, amazing achievements for a British band in exporting ‘coals to Newcastle’. The band create the perfect genre-bending groove odyssey on Future Boogie, featuring ten tracks of funk-drenched, feel-good hip shakers. This album is all about positive vibrations, super charged bass lines, summer time soul, dirty funk, clever horn arrangements and crafty hooks that have a way of getting in and staying inside your head. This new album draws upon the influence of Earth, Wind and Fire’s killer horn arrangements as well as the jazz/funk explorations of contributor Roy Ayers, the funkier side of Herbie Hancock, The Blackbyrds, Cold Blood and The Mighty Burner, organ legend Charles Earland. For Future Boogie, DTTB mainstay Stuart Wade reunites with legendary vibraphonist and jazz funk pioneer Roy Ayers and R&B songbird Hil St. Soul. Highlights include the super funky ‘Good To Me’ featuring Roy Ayers, who not only lends his hot mallets to the track, but his voice too. Also included is the high octane and sassy ‘Should’ve Been You’ featuring Hil St. Soul and saxophonist James Knight who takes it from the organic soulful start into a rip roaring funk laden groove in the middle section. Hil St. Soul is also featured on the uplifting organic soul number ‘The Brighter Side’.
